For the past 11 years, Dimitrios Koufos has been working for the EBRD, where he has been specializing in Energy Efficiency & Climate Change areas and Resource Efficiency Investments. Currently, he holds the position of Lead Direct Finance, Associate Director for Energy Efficiency & Climate Change. Koufos has more than sixteen years of practical experience in areas such as Production Technology & Process Optimization, Production Management Systems, Energy & Environmental Technology, Energy & Environmental Legislation/Reporting, Supply Chain Management, Technology Strategy & Investment Analysis in companies like Shell and Motor Oil Hellas.

His practical experience lies in the field of production processes and systems, evaluation technologies and the respective business cases studies ranging from greenfield investments, to plant modernization and upgrades, energy management, environmental compliance issues, product compliance requirements around the world (e.g. USA, Greece, Egypt, Albania, Russia, Croatia, and Romania), in cooperation with various multinational companies and leading financial institutions such as the European Investment Bank (EIB) and the EBRD.
