Zoltan Martinusz

Director - Enlargement, Security, Foreign Affairs Council Support, General Secretariat of the Council of the European Union

Zoltan Martinusz is currently a Director of the Directorate for Enlargement, Security, Civil Protection, Foreign Affairs Council Support at the Council of the European Unionm General Secretariat. He has a Masters Degree in Strategic Studies from the US Army War College in Carlisle, PA.

In the past, he worked as a Principal Advisor on External Affairs at the Cabinet of the President of the European Council (2010-2012), as a Director of the Directorate for the Western Balkans, Eastern Europe and Central Asia at the General Secretariat of the Council of the EU (2009-2010) and as an Ambassador – Permanent Representative of Hungary to NATO (2005-2009).

He is a member of the Hungarian Atlantic Council, the Hungarian Foreign Affairs Association, the International Institute of Strategic Studies (London) and the Academic Advisory Board of the NATO Defence College (2001-2004).
