Filomena Chirico is member of the Cabinet of European Commission’s Vice President Jyrki Katainen. She follows the areas of defence policy, research and innovation, cyberdefence and digital. Before, she was policy coordinator at the Secretariat General of the Commission, in the areas of internal market and competitiveness and case handler in the Commission’s Directorate-General for competition, dealing with telecommunication and transport sectors. Filomena holds a law degree from LUISS Guido CarliUniversity of Rome, a European Master in Law and Economics from the Universities of Rotterdam/Hamburg/Berkeley and a PhD in Institutional Economics from the Sapienza Università di Roma.
