Hanna Hopko

Head of the Foreign Affairs Committee, Parliament of Ukraine

Hanna Hopko is a Member of the Ukrainian Parliament and a Head of the Foreign Affairs Committee of Ukrainian Parliament. She was also one of the leading members of the Civic Sector of EuroMaidan during the Revolution of Dignity. She launched with other activists the  “Reanimation Package of Reforms” initiative – a coalition of Ukrainian NGOs focused on efficient implementation of most important reforms in Ukraine (judiciary and administrative reforms, etc.). During the parliamentary elections that followed the EuroMaidan revolution, Hanna Hopko headed the list of Samopomich Party and became a member of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine. She was designed Chairwoman of the Foreign Affairs Committee on 4 December 2014.

Hanna Hopko is also an expert in advocacy, media and political communication. She gained much experience working with many human rights and environment NGO´s and on projects with institutions such as USAID, OSCE, NATO, UNEP, UNDP etc.) She became a famous Ukrainian civil society activist, also coordinating iniciatives such as „For Smoke-Free Ukraine“.

During 2006-2014 period, she was a team leader of many programs for NGO´s in Kazakhstan and worked on many projects in Belarus. In her early career, she also worked as a journalist. She has a PhD in Political communications.
