David Müller
David Müller took over the duties of the Director General at the Section of European Union and Foreign Trade in July 2023. He had already been part of the same team, acting first as principal senior advisor after relocating from his previous posting at Czech Consulate General in Toronto in October 2021 and later adding the role of deputy of Acting Director General from spring 2022. He has been working on various trade and international business files across the Ministry, including coordinating with other governmental bodies and agencies in charge of foreign relations and business.
Previously, David was posted in Toronto, having relocated to Canada in 2016. During his tenure as a Trade Commissioner, he assisted Czech businesses and academia in building relations with Canadian counterparts. His previous career at the Ministry of Industry and Trade included several positions mostly related to international business and trade law, as he served as the Director of European and International Law Department, Deputy at the same Department, as well as the Head of International Law Unit.
By training, David holds several Masters, including Law, Economics and International Relations, as well as PhD. in Political Science. He studied in the Czech Republic, Germany and Australia.
