Petr Gajdušek

State Secretary, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic

JUDr. Petr Gajdušek, LL.M.(Cam), M.St.(Oxon) was appointed the State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on 30th of April 2015. Prior taking up his post at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs he worked as a director of the chairman’s section at the Office for the Protection of Competition. Previously, he has been dealing with the matters concerning energy law in an international law office. Petr Gajdušek received a master degree in law from the Faculty of Law at the Charles University in Prague and then a master degree in political science and international relations from the Faculty of Social Sciences at the Charles University. Furthermore, he graduated from the University of Cambridge, where he specialized in an international law and obtained the academic title Master of Laws (LL.M.). He also studied at the University of Oxford (M. St.), focusing on the human rights issues from the perspective of international law. He has taken part in various study visits and internships dedicated to international law and international relations, e.g. at the Georgetown University in Washington D.C. or at the University of Bologna. Petr Gajdušek is also a holder of various awards and scholarships, including the Bolzano Prize for the best thesis at the Charles University or Cambridge European trust Scholarship.
